Carolyn Sue (Securro) Sines

Carolyn was born on December 31, 1943, was taken into the arms of our Lord on November 28, 2016 after a short bout with cancer.

Carolyn lived in the Akron area most of her life.  She graduated from Ellet High School and Kent State University (Salem branch), where she graduated with honors in both general studies and Criminal Justice.

Carolyn devoted her life to those around her.  In her later years she cared for the elderly as a home health aide.  She was devoted to her family and had a passion for cooking and decorating.

She was vice president of the Polytowne Friendship Club, whose members gave her tremendous support.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Clark Securro; father, Sammy Securro; and beloved brother, James Securro.

Carolyn is survived by her sons, Jack (Sally) Sines, III of Orlando, FL and Harold Sines of Goose Creek, SC; brother, Thomas (Susan) Securro; sister, Shirley Securro; sister in law, Teresa Securro all of Akron; grandsons Jack Sines and his mother Dawn Sines, Rodney Kinney and Christopher (Deborah) Sines and their mother Patricia Sines, Stefan Bortak of Orlando; granddaughters, Jackie Sines and Stephanie Sines Newman; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and her devoted life partner, Geoffrey Melucci.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
