Donald E. Finch

Donald E. Finch, 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2015.

Born in Akron, Don had lived in the Akron area for all of his life.  He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1992 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company with 39 ½ years of service.  Don was a member of Williard United Church of Christ, where he was very active with the church and served as a Deacon.  He loved fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; sister, Leah “Marjorie” Perry, and brother, Philip (Wanda) Finch.

Don is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Lenny) Nigh of Akron and Diane Finch of Tallmadge; sons, Guy D. (Linda) Finch and Dale E. (Denise) Finch all of Akron; grandchildren, Morgan, Cory, Tyler and Jordan; sister, Ruth Ellen Gerry of California; and his faithful companion, Lady.

 The family would like to thank Dr. Debra Plate and Hospice of Visiting Nurse.

Visitation will be 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at Williard United Church of Christ, 742 Johnston St., Akron with Pastor Darlene Garber officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post 8487.

Memorial donations may be made to the church.
