Edward "Ed" P Hartman

August 10, 1957 ~ March 18, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Edward P. “Ed” Hartman, age 59, passed away on March 18, 2017 at home with those he loved most by his side after fighting cancer for 20 months.   He was born on August 10, 1957 and grew up in Mogadore, graduating from Mogadore High School then completing his apprenticeship to become a journeyman plumber/pipefitter.  Ed retired after 32 years of service on his 55th birthday.  He was also an Ohio State Plumbing Inspector and after retiring enjoyed working at Mayfair Country Club Golf Course, where he also spent many enjoyable days golfing.

Ed lived his entire adult life in Edinburg and this is where he and his wife Debby raised their 2 amazing children.  He spent countless hours in the barn with his horses and coaching youth sports.  Ed was always the life of the party and made fast friends with everyone.  His tough exterior covered his kind and gentle heart and all who knew him knew his family was his world.  He enjoyed golfing, Notre Dame Football, time at the beach and trips to many casinos.

Ed leaves behind his lifetime love and best friend, his wife, Deborah J (Dunlap) Hartman.  His children, Jessica (Josh) Gealy and Andrew Hartman (girlfriend Rachel Valli), as well as his grandson, Ethan Gealy, best friend and brother, David , brother, Frank and sister, Patty, in-laws, Kenneth and Barbara Dunlap, his constant companion and four-legged buddy, “Hank” and numerous additional relatives and many close friends that he considered family.

He was preceded in death by his newborn son, Brian; parents, Lawrence and Lena Hartman, and brother, Don.

Ordinary things made him an extraordinary man, evident by the hundreds of cards, calls, visits, gifts and unwavering support of all who knew him.

Per Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
