Foster L. Schafer

Foster L. Schafer, 92, passed away June 20, 2016.

Born in Brimfield, Foster had lived in the area all of his life.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He worked for Twin Coach and retired in 1986 as quality control engineer with Chrysler.  Foster was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Brimfield, was a Mason for over 60 years and enjoyed playing golf, the Indians and especially spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; sister, Thelma; and brothers, Gordon, Clarence, and Stanley.

Foster is survived by his daughter, Patricia (Wesley) Scott of Rootstown, sons, Steve (Leslie) Schafer of Stow and Jack (Cheryl) Schafer of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Ryan Schafer, Cory (Maggie) Schafer, Todd (Sarah) Schafer, Dominic Scott, Ben Schafer, and Stephanie Schafer; great grandchildren, Camden, Logan, and Miles.

Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle). 

Funeral services will be held  9 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield, 1235 Tallmadge Rd., Brimfield with Pastor Linda Somerville officiating. 

Interment will be at Restland Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post #8487.

Memorial donations may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church of Brimfield.
