Lillian B. Cochran (Vessey), 89, passed away March 21, 2015.

Lillian was born in February, 1926 in Akron, Ohio, attended Glover Elementary School and was a graduate of Garfield High School.  She attended Kent State University for one year.  Lillian moved to Tallmadge from Akron in 1944 and lived the rest of her life in Tallmadge, Ohio.  She joined First Congregational Church of Tallmadge in 1944 and she was active as a Sunday school teacher, served on the Women's Fellowship Group, chaired the Funeral Committee, served many meals for the Church activities and sold knives for the Women's Fellowship Committee.  Lillian was an active member of Tallmadge School's PTA and PTO.  She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years.  Lillian enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, crafts, sewing, gardening, and ceramics.  She especially liked canning her hot peppers and hot pepper jelly.  For many years she entered flower arrangements, sewing items and her hot peppers in the Summit County Fair.  She won numerous ribbons for all of her entries.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert M. Cochran, Sr.; daughter, Sally Sprague; parents, Martin and Goldie Vessey, and sister, Irma Battles (Roy).

Lillian is survived by children, Robert M. Cochran, Jr. (Rosemary) and Mitchell M. Cochran (Debbie); son-in-law, Richard Sprague (Lisa); grandchildren, Martin Cochran (Tricia), Daniel Cochran (Nicole), Katy Glaze (Brian), Stephen Cochran (Sara), Andrew Cochran (Natalie), Benjamin Cochran, Christina Cochran, Josiah Sprague, Caleb Sprague (Emily) and Annah Sprague, 10 great children and many relatives and friends.  

She loved spending time with all of her family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Visiting Angels of Tallmadge and all of the people who assisted her for the last 3 years.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at The First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, 85 Heritage Drive, Tallmadge with the Rev. Dr. John Schleup officiating.

Internment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Women's Fellowship Group of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge.
