Lori Laughard-Perkins

February 25, 1964 ~ April 25, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

After a prolonged but valiant fight with cancer, Lori Laughard-Perkins is at rest. She passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side in early morning hours of April 25th, 2017.

Lori was youngest daughter of Rose and Gary Perkins of Summerfield, FL. She was preceded in death by her sister Tina Perkins.

Lori is survived by her parents, her daughter, Kara Laughard (Chris Tingley) of St. Cloud, FL.; her son, William Laughard (Alex) of Pittsburgh, PA; brothers, Mark (Eva) Perkins of Suffield Township, OH and Richard Perkins (Satomi Milcasta) of Huntington Beach, CA; nieces and nephews -Barry (Angela) Pruitt of Mogadore, OH, Jennifer (Mike) Miller of Navarre, FL,  Matthew Perkins, Akron, OH, and Mark Anthony Perkins of Alliance, OH, and best friend Karen Genaro Taylor ; as well as her great niece, Alivia, great nephews, Kasey and Michael, amazing friends who truly loved her and her kitten, Katie.

Lori was born February 25th 1964 in Akron. She graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1982 and found much success in the business world. Lori enjoyed reading, watching movies, playing cards and talk shows. Lori’s smile lit up every room and her love for her children, her family, her friends, and Luigis Antipasto Salad knew no bounds.

When she was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer is 2010 she entered the battle determined to win; and she did for many years. She was resilient, strong, and stubborn. Lori was a “miracle baby” who fought with fervor for nearly ten years and beat “million to one” odds. Even in her passing she was a miracle to all who were lucky enough to know and love her.

Lori requested to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred in her final resting place next to her sister at Tallmadge Cemetery.

A showing will take place at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home at 339 Southwest Ave in Tallmadge on Thursday April 27th TODAY from 4pm to 7pm, followed by a mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 2643 Waterloo Rd. in Randolph, OH on Friday April 28th at 11:00am. with Fr. Tom Acker officiating.

The family would especially like to thank Rachael Fanaday, Lori’s primary residential caretaker and friend of the last several years for her loving care and companionship.
