Robert D. Cevasco

On March 22nd, heaven rejoiced as Robert Daniel Cevasco met the Lord, just the way he wanted.

Bob was born on June 23, 1927 to Edmund and Marguerite Cevasco in Akron, Ohio.

In 1950, Bob married Loralea Gray and together they raised their large family in Tallmadge, Ohio. Bob had several careers in his long life. He was Penn Mutual Insurance Company's first million dollar salesman. He also started Ohio Decorative Ceiling Company and was a watch maker by trade.  In 1977, Bob returned to his family's roots and re-opened Cevasco's Jewelers with his son Kevin, in Tallmadge. Bob was a proud member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He was a 3rd degree in the Knights of Columbus and was very active in the parish, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. He was involved in CYO, was a youth group leader for years, and taught CCD.  Bob took pride in his family’s mission to dig a well for the Nigerian people. Bob also was very proud of his family and instilled the value of generosity to others in all his children. There was always room for one more at the family dinner table. In his latter years, his favorite time was breakfast with photos of all his great grandchildren.

The only son of an only son for five generations, Bob was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Lee; and sisters, Evelyn Garn, Geraldine Sloan and Marguerite Roland.

Bob is survived by his wife, Loralea, children, Paul (Chris), R. Daniel (Connie), David (Jan), Mike (Margaret), Kevin (Cathy), Rick (Rita), Julie (Jerry Sisko), Mark and Scott (Beth). Grandchildren, Nate (Meghan), Caitlin (Bob Ambramovich), Megan (Kyle Crissinger), Kacy (Jason Cowie), Cory (Jen), David (Kim), Heather (Aaron Ayris), Sandy (Darrell Jones), Shawn (Marc Lewis), Angela, Tony (Tana), John, Emma (Zach Rice), Moira (David Chrzanowski), Vinny, Nicole (Dan Cochran), Joe (Stacie) Sisko, Jonathan Sisko, Zack, Jacob, Dom, Benjamin, Natalie and Nicholas, and 27 great grandchildren, and caretaker, Joanne Hendricks.

Calling hours will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to mass at the church.

Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Church 73 North Ave, Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
