Ruth A. (von Spiegel) Thompson

Ruth A. Thompson, 79, passed away July 23, 2016, surrounded by her wonderful family.  Born in Akron, she lived in Tallmadge since 1972.

Ruth was a graduate of St. Mary HS in 1954, worked in sales at Yeagar’s Dept. Store, and was a secretary at T-Mac Machine for 20 years.  She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Northeast Neighbors, Primetimers and loved flowers and gardening.

Ruth is survived by her husband of almost 57 yrs., Bernard; daughter, Kathy Just of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, Raymond (Lori) Thompson, Gary (Denise) Thompson both of Tallmadge, Joseph (Melanie) Thompson of Flagler Beach, Fl.; grandchildren, Tyler (Jacqui), Lauren, Victoria, Logan; brothers, Robert (Paula) von Spiegel, Charles (Jan) von Spiegel both of Akron, Harry von Spiegel of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Fr. John Hengle and Rev. Michael Matusz officiating.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Randolph, Ohio. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
