DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME PURCHASES NEW MOGADORE LOCATION

MOGADORE, OHIO - As of Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, the city of Tallmadge’s local family-owned Donovan Funeral Home has officially acquired the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home in the village of Mogadore, Ohio. As lifelong residents of Tallmadge who have served thousands of families since their business opened in 2003, the Donovan family says they are excited to expand their funeral home services to the families of Mogadore.

Located at 34 South Cleveland Road, the purchased funeral home had been previously owned and operated by Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home for roughly seventy years, while owner Ted Lawver’s family has been in the business for ninety overall. Lawver is now looking to begin his transition into retirement and is happy to see the building acquired by Donovan Funeral Homes who work to continue the space’s long tradition of serving Mogadore families and neighbors.

The Donovan family says they are both thankful and very proud to be able to pick up the torch and continue the long legacy of the funeral home that Hopkins Lawver has maintained over the years. The Donovans are actually already acquainted with the village of Mogadore, as owner Jim Donovan’s wife, Julie Donovan, has been a fourth grade teacher at O.H. Somers Elementary for 26 years.

While the sign at the front of the funeral home may still read “Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home”, Donovan Funeral Home is available immediately to begin providing services and arrangements at the location. They are excited to become a part of the Mogadore community and meet their new neighbors.
