Tallmadge- Keith R. Ports, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on March 17, 2024.
Keith was a proud graduate of Garfield High School class of ’62 and received his BA from Akron University. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed playing on Palumbo’s and other softball teams, a Stonehedge bowling league, and a Maplecrest golf league. Many knew him from his home improvement business, CMH Home Improvement which he took great pride in for 40 years. In recent years his passion was his Harley. He travelled all over the country with his wife and many of his treasured “biker family”. Keith had so many life long friends in the Akron area, definitely too many to count. He cherished each and every one of them.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Neal Ports; and brother-in-law, Joseph Bauer.
Keith is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carolyn; children, Michelle (Todd) Lehn, Heather (Danny) Coffey, Erik (Nicole) Ports; eight grandchildren; sister, Denise Bauer; sister-in-law, Mary Lynne (Frank) Rizzo; in-laws, James and Mary Buehrle; sister-in-law, Mary (Hal) DeSaussure; brother-n-law, Mike (Gabriella) Buehrle; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Keith’s life to follow.
