Madonna Metcalf, 81, went to her heavenly home with her Savior Jesus on March 24, 2024. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in the Akron and Tallmadge area.
Madonna was a graduate of Kent State University and retired from Akron Public Schools as a teacher. She was a loving wife and mother, who was always there to care for her grandchildren and lend a hand to anyone in need. She loved being outdoors and working in her yard and decorating her home. Madonna always made family first in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Hood; brother, Paul Hood.
Madonna is survived by her husband, Fred; daughters, Kelly (Ron) Lattime, Kara Metcalf; grandchildren, Kristina, Brandon, Jacob and Connor; brothers, Haven (Linda) Hood, Les (Tracy) Hood; special friends, Heather, Myrna and Shelise; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 11:00 until 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home with Rev. Jim McHugh officiating.
Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
