Caroline passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born Caroline Mary Kainrad in a farm house near Wayland, Ohio. One of nine children in the Christian and Katherine Kainrad family, being John, Elizabeth, Chris, Catherine, Caroline, Anthony, Josephine, Helen and Joseph. Only Helen survives.
Her young adult years were spent in Akron, Ohio, where she worked as a nanny and at various secretarial positions. During World War II she made observations in the development of synthetic rubber. Her position at the Akron Beacon Journal led to marriage to Frederick Bochert which included his five year old daughter Meladee (Jerry). Caroline had three children, Valerie (Craig), Rick (Rose) and Mark (Karen). She was the original working mother, juggling full time secretarial work many years at Tallmadge High School and family responsibilities at a time when most women were full time homemakers. Her retirement years were spent in Venice, Florida and summers being spent in Kent, Ohio. Caroline and Fred enjoyed the activities of their children and grandchildren being, Julius, Shannon, Brian, Miranda, Amanda, Eric, Angela, Sandy, Ricky, Jennifer, Nichole, Stephanie and Keith. From these grandchildren, she also leaves 18 great grandchildren.
Caroline was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tallmadge, Ohio and a very generous person who was business minded, a hard worker and blessed many people. She cared for elderly relatives in her home for many years. Her later years were spent in Kent Ridge in Kent, Ohio and Heritage of Hudson where she received excellent care.
Private services will be held by her family to honor her memory.
