Clarence Florkiewicz, of Tallmadge, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. He was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania to the late John and Anna (Ripsky) Florkiewicz.
He was raised in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania where he met his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Geraldine (Michalowski). They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage in August.
Clarence enjoyed golf, classical music, movies, reading and crossword puzzles always doing them in pen. He enjoyed creating embroidery patterns for his wife’s embroidery machines. He also enjoyed being a snowbird in West Palm Beach, Florida. He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1991 from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 35 years of service designing “specialty tires”. Clarence was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna; brothers, John, George, Joseph and Alphonse.
Clarence is survived by his children, Carol (Matt) Haven and Regina Florkiewicz; sister, Sister Mark Ann; and grandson, Brendon Haven.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Reverend Michael Matusz and Father John Hengle officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass.
