David Skinner, 77, passed away peacefully May 13, 2018.
Born in Akron, David lived in the Akron area his entire life. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines Corp. David retired in 2003 from A&R Transport. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, cars, boating, road trips and his recliner. His CB Handle was Grumpy, which fit him perfectly. David’s grandchildren were the light of his life. He spent his time attending their many sporting events through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Catherine (Babick) Skinner; sister, Mary Goebel and brothers, Fred and Kenneth Skinner.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Joan (Miller); daughter, Toni (Thomas) Haag of Silver Lake; son, Shane (Margie) Skinner of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Shana, David, and Caden Skinner, Tyner, Taylor, Trevor and Teah Haag; brother, Thomas (Elsie) Skinner of Little Rock, Arkansas, sisters in law, Patti Davis of Marion, Ohio and Vicki Skinner of Frostproof, Florida; and many close nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Friday May 18, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, St. Joseph Parish, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls with Father Jared Orndorff officiating.
Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Parish New Roof Fund, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
