Donald “Donnie” Raymond Kellar went home to be with the Lord on September 30, 2017.
Born and raised in Tallmadge, Donald graduated from Tallmadge High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army as a heavy vehicle driver during the Vietnam conflict. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter. Following his military discharge, Donald gave thirty years service as a Union Roofer for Local 88 Akron and Local 44 Cleveland.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kellar; sisters, Sheilla (Robert) Nunnelley, Frances Tomaiko; brother, Thomas (Julie) Kellar; daughter, Cassondra (Michael) Easterling; son, Stephen (Michelle) Kellar; grandchildren, Noel & Emry Easterling; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Donald is preceded in death by his father, Donald B. Kellar, daughter, Angela D. Kellar, and beloved pup, Mocha.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. TODAY, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and also one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Community Gospel Tabernacle, 181 E. State St., Barberton with Rev. Donita Huffman officiating.
Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
