Esta Mae Eriksen

Esta Mae Eriksen, 86, passed away July 23, 2017 after a brief illness.  We find peace in knowing she is with our Lord and the love of her life, Harold. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in Tallmadge.

Esta retired from the Lawson Milk Co. after 28 years as a payroll supervisor and was a very active member at the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge. She was the financial secretary of the church and active with the Social Action Board, youth groups and the hand bell choir. Esta was a vice president of AARP, member of the Tallmadge Garden Gate Garden Club, Tallmadge Prime Timers and volunteered for 10 years at Stan Hywet Hall and Garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Tiny” Eriksen; parents, Grover and Mary Shaw; brothers, Emil and John Barle; sister, Helen Makary; daughter in law, Karen Eriksen.

Esta is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Todd) Laidlaw; sons, Keith (Vicki) Eriksen of Wooster, Greg (Sin Hui) Eriksen of Columbus, Jack Eriksen of Pepper Pike; and 8 grandchildren.

Calling hours will be 5:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at The Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at The First Congregational Church, 85 Heritage Dr. in Tallmadge with Rev. Neal Sadler officiating.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
