Gayle Lattime, 81, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born an only child on August 16, 1936 in Oakhurst, New Jersey to the late Kenneth and Esther Sickles. She was a resident of Tallmadge, Ohio for over 50 years. Gayle was a dedicated volunteer and member of Akron City Hospital's "T2 family" which services patients undergoing intensive care for over 40 years, retiring this past January.
Gayle is survived by her sons, Ron (Kelly) Lattime and Scott (Beth) Lattime; daughter, (Wendy); and grandchildren, Kristina, Cecelia, and Ethan Lattime.
She will be remembered for her fierce independence, sense of humor, and passion for landscaping and home décor projects. In her early years, Gayle enjoyed dancing and spending time at the ocean. Family members will celebrate Gayle's life with a memorial dinner party that will include good company, good food, and good music, three of her favorite things.
Cremation has taken place and Gayle's family will lay her to rest along the Jersey Shore later this summer. No formal services will be held. Donations can be made on Gayle's behalf to an association of your choice working to further breast cancer research and early detection.
