James Germano Cella, 92, passed away February 19, 2018. He was born May 20, 1925 in Akron, where he lived all of his life.
James served in the U.S. Army during WWII and went into Normandy on D-Day June 6, 1944. He was self employed as a Tile Setter with DeMarco Floors and was a member of St. Martha’s / Blessed Trinity. James was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his father, William McKinley Cella; daughter, Janeen Cella and his aunt Bertha Cella.
James is survived by his wife, Betty; son, James (Erica) Cella; grandchildren, Gianna and Nico Cella and Jeffrey and Justin Holliday.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be conducted by Firestone VFW Post #3383.
