Ray Sims, 90, born July 2, 1928 and passed away July 2, 2018.
Born in Fairmont, West Virginia, Ray had lived in Tallmadge since 1954. He retired in 1986 from Ohio Bell/AT&T with 40 years of service. Ray was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, AT&T Pioneers Club, Tallmadge PrimeTimers, and a Mason. He was South High Class Officer and attended the Corner Open for many years. After his retirement in 1986, he began installing and repairing phone systems for anyone. Ray also began helping at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home and loved greeting and helping people.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Helen “Sue” Sims.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Mitch) Cochran of Tallmadge; sons, Kenneth (Nora) Sims of Canal Fulton and Thomas (Rhonda) Sims of Tallmadge; grandchildren, Pamela (Whitney) Hamilton of Columbus, Kenneth, Jr. (Chelsea) Sims of Rochester, New York, Lisa Sims of Canal Fulton, Andrew (Natalie) Cochran of Columbus, Benjamin Cochran of Akron, and Christina (Turner) Anderson of Akron; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Savannah, Hunter, Mason, and Audrey; special friend, Shirley Mayfield.

Visitation will be 1 until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018, at Tallmadge Historic Church in the circle with Father John Hengle officiating. (Please park at the Donovan Funeral Home, where a police crossing guard will be provided at the circle.)
Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
