Rose D'Attoma

Rose D’Attoma, 91 of Tallmadge, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2017. Born in Conversano, Bari, Italy, she had lived in Tallmadge since 1974.

Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother as well as friend. She loved to cook, especially for family on Sundays and was known for her Focaccia bread and Italian Rum Cake and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory, Holy Family Parish and the Conversanese Society.

She was preceded in death by husband, Angelo; parents, Anthony and Maria Fanizzi, son, Tony, and daughter-in-law Marilyn, son-in-law, James Chiera; brothers, Joseph, Nick, Tony, and Cicillo Fanizzi.

Rose is survived by sons, Peter (Donna) D’Attoma of Munroe Falls; John (Alice) D’Attoma of Akron; Michael (Julie) D’Attoma of Copley; daughters, Anna Marie (fiancé Filippo Capobianco) of Medina, Mary (Dr. Joseph) Meli of Fairlawn, Angela (Ladd) Springer of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Tony D'Attoma, Toby D’Attoma, Christopher and Eric D’Attoma and Marissa Keglovic; Stephen, Michael, and Jamie D’Attoma, Joseph (Kristen) Chiera, Theresa (Jeff) Heinl, and Vincent (Lyndsey) Chiera, Jennifer (Dan) Halm, Jessica (Jason) Koehler, Jon (Meltem) Meli, Dominic and Nicholas Springer, Dan (Kim) O’Brien, Anthony, Joseph (Lauren), Jacqueline D’Attoma and 24 great-grand children, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thanks the entire staff at the Village of St. Edward and Cleveland Clinic Visiting Nurse Hospice Care team for their care of Rose.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) Tallmadge, OH 44278 (330-633-3350).

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Holy Family Parish 3179 Kent Road, Stow, OH 44224.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Family requests donations be made to Hospice of VNS 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333 in Rose’s name.
