Velma Greenwald

Velma Greenwald, 89, passed away November 15, 2017. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in Tallmadge.

Velma retired in 1988 with over 10 years as an optician with Co Op Optical. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; granddaughter, Melissa; grandson, Jason; great grandson, Cody; sisters, Mildred, Eula, Orba.

Velma is survived by daughter, Lori (Michael) McGuinness of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, James (Barbara) Greenwald of Lapeer, Michigan, David (Laurie) Greenwald, Douglas (Sarah) Greenwald, and Jack (Alice) Greenwald all of Akron; grandchildren, Paul, Kevin, Eric, Katie, Darla, Stephanie, Sara, Ryan, and Jared; six great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin C. Greenwald officiating.

Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1815 W. Market St., Akron 44313.
