Victor L Urban

Victor L. Urban, 89, passed away March 16, 2017. He was surrounded by family and held their hand as he passed into heaven.  Born and raised in Toledo, a long time resident of Tecumseh, MI, he had lived in Tallmadge the past 17 years.

Victor served as a CPL in the U.S. Army AAF during World War II, retired as a foreman at Peerless Gear with 43 years of distinguished service and attended Our Lady of Victory Church. Vic enjoyed woodworking and building furniture.  He also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed the occasional game of golf.  Throughout the years he loved his dogs and “granddogs”.  He was a nature lover and enjoyed watching the deer and birds in his backyard.

Vic was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first.  Vic and Dolly the “original lovebirds” were married for 64 years and had a lifetime of wonderful memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Zita; brothers, Frank, Louis, Al, Don; sister, Mildred Ames.

Victor is survived by his wife, Dolores (Dolly); daughter, Victoria (Christopher) Scott of Silver Lake; sister, Zita (Jake) Vollner of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.  He also was blessed with many great friends and wonderful neighbors.

Visitation will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Donovan Funeral Home with Deacon Steve Makara officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
