Albert A. Difrangia

Albert A. DiFrangia, 92, passed away January 19, 2015.

Born Jan. 9, 1923, to Domenic and Jenny DiFrangia, Albert had lived in Tallmadge since 1961.  He served in the Navy during WWII and retired from Goodyear in 1987 with 45 years of service.  His love of family, friends and his Italian heritage was appreciated by all who knew him. Stories about his Navy days, flying a Macy's Day balloon and vacations in Brigantine, NJ, were loved by everyone, and usually included a few jokes, too. He was a "North Hill boy" inside and out who maintained lifelong friendships on the golf course.  He won numerous golf awards including two holes in one: the first at age 70 and the next at age 75.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Michael and Alfred.

Albert is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Rita (William) Welch of Stow and Sylvia (Jim) Shanahan of Largo, Florida; grandson, Ryan Haupt of Brooklyn, New York; sister, Lena (Dan) Marseglia; sisters-in-law, Teresa DiFrangia, Isabel (Joseph) Cacioppo, Anita Tricaso, Adaline (John) Lomelo; brothers-in-law, Dan Tricaso, Mimmo Gagliardi; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, 339 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Mike Matusz officiating.  PROCESSION TO FORM AT THE CHURCH.

Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
