Alberta Mae (Hall) Shanafelt

Alberta Mae Shanafelt, 91, of Springboro, Ohio passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 22, 2024.  She was born November 26, 1933 to James and Isabelle Hall in Akron, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edwin Lee Shanafelt; brothers, Harry Hall (Sandi) and James Hall (Sheila).

Alberta is survived by son, Dave Hall (Claudia); daughters, Debbie Dunnerstick, Kimberly Schaffter (Austin), Holly Fisher; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Alberta spent her entire professional life employed in the advertising industry with Northlick, Stolley of Akron and Commercial Color Lab, amongst others. She was also a founder and years-long manager of the annual Ellet Community Parade and a life-time member of the St. Matthew Catholic Parish.  In her quiet times, she enjoyed gardening and visiting with family. Since 2021, she lived in Springboro, Ohio with her daughter, Kimberly.

Albert and Edwin's ashes will be mixed and then interred for eternity next to his parents (Leeser & Rena Shanafelt) at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E. Waterloo Road, Akron, Oh.

Alberta's wish was that the family hold an open, happy celebration of her life, which will be, April 11, 2025 at 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Services will follow visitation at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A dinner for family and friends will be available at The Venue Banquet Hall, 10 Tallmadge Circle, Tallmadge at 6:00 p.m.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Holy Cross Cemetery.
