Alexander "Alex" J Maximovich, Jr.

Alexander J. Maximovich, Jr., 60, passed away May 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer.  Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in the Akron and Tallmadge area.

Alex worked 13 years in the Distribution Dept with Acme in Akron, OH from 1986-1998.  After leaving Acme, he started his own Carpet Cleaning and Trophy business. He also worked at Walsh Jesuit High School for 18 years for his friend Todd's Cleaning Company.

He was a member at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Tallmadge. Alex was a graduate of Tallmadge High School, Class of 1982.

Alex enjoyed playing computer games with his brother, Michael, flying RC Airplanes, fishing, bicycling and target shooting. Alex and his sister, in their younger years would go bicycling down the country roads in Mogadore together and just hang out.  His favorite holiday was Christmas. Alex loved his cat, Bella.

Alex would do anything to help another person out. He was a very giving person and a lot of fun to hang out with.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Marguerite Maximovich; brother in law, Fred Scharler; brother, Michael.

Alex is survived by his sister, Marian (Michael) Scharler DePasquale; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the Summa Hospice Care Team for the loving care they gave their brother, Alex.

Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 73 North Ave. Tallmadge, OH

Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Father Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
