Alma (Garrett) Hammond

May 31, 1921 — March 25, 2015

Alma Hammond, 93, passed away March 25, 2015.

Born in Akron, Alma had lived all her life in the Akron area. She was a member of New Life Episcopal Church in Uniontown and A.B.W.A., YK Rod Club.  Alma retired from North Akron Savings after 15 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Blackwell and Gaius Hammond; daughter in law, Connie Blackwell.

Alma is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cradlebaugh of Akron; sons, Joseph (Jennifer) Hammond of Mississippi, Richard (Garnett) Blackwell of Tallmadge, Martin Blackwell of California, and Robin (Connie) Blackwell of Akron; grandchildren, Valerie (Kevin), Krisi (Randy), Andy, Daniel, Katrina; great grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Zak, Kelsee, Tyler, Garrett and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Elizabeth Frank officiating.

Interment will be at East Akron Cemetery.
