Angela Marie Esposito, affectionately known as "Auntie Angie", 94 passed away peacefully on June 3, 2016.Angela a life resident of Akron, retired from Thermal Engineering after 35 years of service. Angela and her sister Elizabeth raised their four siblings, after their mother died at a young age. She took great care of her dad, Pasquale, for many years until he passed away. Aunt Angie also raised her nephew, Ralph, Jr. until he was 8 years old.Angela loved attending mass at St. Anthony Church where she was an active member of the Saint Monica Society. She was an avid golfer and loved bowling. She made the best apple pie, blueberry muffins, and chocolate chip cookies, according to her great-great nieces and nephews. Auntie Angie looked forward to celebrating "Sunday Supper" with her family; she often made her legendary sponge cake for dessert for those treasured gatherings.Angela traveled extensively throughout the United States and enjoyed vacationing in Mexico and Aruba with her nephew, Ralph, and his family. Her favorite travel destination was Italy, the birthplace of her parents.She is preceded in death by her parents Pasquale and Michelina; brothers, Dominic and Louis; sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret; sisters-in-law, Mary and Esther; and brother-in-law, Alex.She is survived by her brother, Ralph Sr.; nephews, Ralph Jr. (Lucille) and Dominic Jr.; nieces, Betty McCormick, Patsy (Tom) Mattingly, and Michelle (Brian) Mohlmaster; great-nieces, Doreen Osmun, Gina Esposito, Maria Esposito-Scolley, Kristen Hollar, Renee' Harvey, and Chelle Roberts; great-nephews, Larry Malcuit, Justin and Jerrod Roberts; and eleven beloved great-great-nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Chruch, 83 Mosser Pl. Akron, OH 44310 . Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main) 552 N. Main St. Akron . Donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church.
