Angela G. Wahl, 71, passed away January 26, 2023 after a courageous nine year battle with breast cancer. Born on September 7th, 1951 in Akron, Ohio, Angela eventually moved to Tallmadge where she became a lifelong resident.
Treasured wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Angela lived her life loyally devoted to the people she loved. Angela married the love of her life, Pep Wahl, and they spent almost 49 loving years of marriage together. A mother to two special daughters, she and her girls were the best of friends. Angela's three grandchildren were her pride and joy. She made sure every moment together was special, whether it was reading books with a different voice for each character, or making their stuffed animals come to life.
Angela graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in education. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She then started her career, teaching for 9 years at St. Sebastian's in Akron, and Indian Trail in Stow. Angela was the perfect first grade teacher. She was loved and adored by her students for her fun-loving nature and sunny disposition.
Angela was also the co-owner and operator of Body Builders, Inc, alongside Pep, for more than 42 dedicated years where she poured her heart and soul into serving their customers. With her deep-rooted inclination to nurture those she held dear, she quickly became a second mom to her members and fondly referred to them as "my boys." A genuine spirit, a friend to all and a heart that radiated warmth, she made anyone who crossed her path feel like a lifelong friend. Her influence was far reaching and her legacy will be too.
Family and friends were her greatest delight, happy place, and her favorite hobby. Angela was always a welcoming and wonderful host for any gathering, large or small. She was the life of every party, and was so warm and kind to everyone she encountered. She devoted herself to caring for those around her, making purposeful memories and being mindful of every moment she was given.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Lindsay Giannobile; parents, Sam and Antoinette Guagliardo; brother, James Guagliardo; and fathers-in-law, Frank "Whitey" Wahl and Conrad C. Ott.
Angela is survived by her beloved husband, Frank "Pep"; daughter, Samantha (Doug) Hertzig; son-in-law, Tony Giannobile; precious grandchildren, Jordan, Alexandra, Rocco; sisters, Anita (Dennis) Pinciotti, Annette (Mark) Brodecky; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Mark Smith, Dr. Margaret Gatti-Mays and Dr. Maryam Lustberg for their unwavering support, advocacy and care on Angela's behalf. The family also graciously thanks the incredible nurses at Summa Radiology, ICU, and Hospice for their attentive and compassionate care and continued kindness.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle). At 3pm, the family will say a few words about Angela.
Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Tallmadge, Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/.
