Obituary

Angelo P. Ciavarella, age 89, passed away October 9, 2014.  He was born on July 22, 1925.  Angelo was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio.

Angelo retired from B.F. Goodrich after 43 years, was a World War II vet, and an avid golfer with three lifetime hole-in-ones. He was an all-round sportsman in basketball, football, baseball, softball, bowling and coaching his North Akron Yankee teams. He also earned a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions within the Ohio Hot Stove League. He is especially remembered and loved for his mentorship, devotion to his family, signature friendly smile and of even his stubbornness.

Preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Maria Ciavarella; his wife, Nancy (Ruggieri); brothers, Emanuel and Nick; brothers-in-law, Phil LoCascio and Jerry Dalton, Joe Ruggieri and Roci Rutti; sisters-in-law, Theresa Molina and Pauline Lucido.

Survived by his children, Tony Ciavarella of Akron, Larry (Diane) Ciavarella of Kent, Nancy (Fred) King of Kingsville Ontario; brother, Tony; sisters, Babe LoCascio and Caroline Dalton; brothers- in-law, Jerry Lucido and Aldo Molina; and sisters- in-law, Isabelle Rutti, Grace Ciavarella, and Gloria Ciavarella; grandchildren, Angelo and AnnMarie Ciavarella, Lea Ciavarella, Stephanie (Matt) Rose, Danny, Crystal and Nicholas King; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Danielle King, Tristin and Triniti Baker; and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Friends are invited to visit with family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at Hennessy Funeral Home (York & Main St.) 552 N. Main St., Akron, OH 44310.
