Angelo Simone

December 13, 1927 — January 11, 2022

Angelo Simone, 94 of Tallmadge, beloved husband to Josephine of 63 years passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 11, 2022.

Angelo was born on December 13, 1927 in Conversano, Bari, Italy. He married the love of his life in 1958 and with immense courage left everything he had known in Conversano to begin life in another country for the sake of his family's future. He started a successful construction company in Venezuela working with American oil companies, Standard Oil and Shell. In 1962, he sacrificed his place in one culture, with the comforts of understanding and being understood, all set aside for the promise of a new life in America. Angelo continued his construction career and retired from W.G. Lockhart Local #894. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, MSC Conversanese Club, Italian Council, and 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.

He loved tending to his garden every year, but most of all enjoyed being with family, especially his grandchildren and passing down the traditions of making homemade wine and tomato sauce.

Angelo was preceded in death by his mother and father, Filomena and Flaviano Simone, and his brother, Saverio (Stella) Simone.

Angelo is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughters, Rosa Simone of Tallmadge, Suzanna (Andy) Ginella of Canal Fulton, and Judy (Shawn) Conway of Stow; grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas and Andrea Ginella, Colin and Tommy Conway, and many relatives in Italy.

Angelo's love for his family and his business never faded. Our appreciation for his love, hard work, and sacrifice will live on forever. A special thanks to Tracy and the rest of the team from Ohio Living Hospice and caregiver, Cheryll, for all their continued care and support.
