Angie (Lerakis) Skeriotis, 94 of Tallmadge, peacefully passed away Monday, February 7, 2022.
She was born November 20, 1927, in Monessen, Pennsylvania to the late John and Anna Lerakis. Angie persevered through adversity at a young age, which contributed to her strength and vitality. Upon returning to the United States from Greece, Angie married John Skeriotis and started their family.
Angie was admired by her ability to naturally connect with any person she encountered in life through her compassion, humor and high level of energy.
She was a life long member of Akron Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, including Melissa Philoptohos Ladies Society. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida and Greece.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John; brothers, Kosta (Irma), Jimmy (Lemonia) and George (Popi); sister, Coula (Gus) Maistros.
Angie is survived by her daughter, Anna (George) Karvounides; son, Niko (Pam) Skeriotis. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Angela (Vagelis) Vavaras, Dina Karvounides, Yianni G. Karvounides, Niko and Jordan Skeriotis; and cherished great grandchildren.
Angie was also close to her sister-in-law, Maria (George); brothers-in-law, Gus (Stamatia), Theodore (Katina), Modestos (Stella); sister-in-law, Anastasia Skeriotis; nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 10:30 until 11:00 am Friday, February 11, 2022, at the Akron Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron.
Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall officiating.
Interment will be at Mount Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Akron Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
