Ann (Vergunst) Root

Ann Root, 91, passed away July 23, 2015.

Born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, Ann had lived in Tallmadge since 1949.  She was a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church and Western Whirlers Square Dancers.

Ann was a RN and an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed bicycling, dancing, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Russell; sister, Teddy; and brothers, Peter and Leonard

Ann is survived by her daughters, Linda (James) Baker of McDonald, Ohio and Susan (Fritz) Zuch of Winthrop, WA ; sons, Stephen Root and Robert (Loretta) Root both of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Amanda (Kirk) Esmond, Jennie (Bryan) Celik, Kimberly Saviers, David and Ryan Root, Christopher (Tess) Baker, Gregory Baker; great grandchildren, Adele and Metta  Esmond, Owen and Ethan Celik; sister, Trudy Meckler of Akron.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2015 at Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Rd., Tallmadge.

A Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m., Monday at the church with Rev. Dr. Barry French officiating.

Interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
