Arldon Smyth, 87, passed away June 19, 2015.
Born in Akron, Arldon had lived in Tallmadge since 1963. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Arldon retired from the Akron Public School in 1988 with 39 years of service and was principal of Litchfield Middle School. He was a very active member of Tallmadge Lions Club, where he was a member for 47 years and served as past president and was secretary for the Lions Eye Clinic at St. Vincent Hospital. He received the Lion of the Year award in 1989.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Twilajean and brothers, Eugene and Robert.
Aldron is survived by his wife, Freda; daughter, Kathie (Dan) Konvolinka and Brenda (Larry) Miller; son, Scott (Mary) Smyth; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday June 23, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Rohrbacher officiating.
Interment will be at Hillside Memorial Park.
