Arlene "Babe" (Labay) Davis

Arlene "Babe" Davis, 83, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2018. She was born in Akron and was a resident of Tallmadge since 1965.

Babe attended Hower Vocational High School, was a member of Calvary Temple and was very involved in their Women of Faith Ministry and Food Pantry. She worked at the family business, Johnny's Auto and Truck Towing, where she was part owner. Growing up in the towing business taught her many skills and at the age of 16 she learned how to drive a tow truck and would go on jobs just like her brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Labay; brothers, John Labay, Jr. and his wife Ruth, Joseph Labay, Sr. and his wife Betty; sister in law, Dorothy Manarik and her husband Robert; brothers in law, Richard Deathe, George Davis and his wife, Clara, Bill Davis; great granddaughter, Norah Evangeline Ballway.

Babe is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Davis; daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Ballway, Cheryl (Jerry) Still, Paula Scaglione; grandchildren, Adrian, Allison (Clint), Christopher (Melissa), Amanda, Joshua, Michael, Jacob, Austin; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Marian Deathe; brother, Stephen (Dottie) Labay; sister in law, Cindy Davis; brothers in law, Robert (Liz) Davis, John (Judi) Davis; her guardian fur baby, Ginger; as well as all her fur babies over the years and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may visit between 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Calvary Temple Church, 3045 Albrecht Ave., Akron and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at the church with Pastor John Walker and Rev. Lindsey Hayes officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
