I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13
Barbara Frances Collins Foraker, 95, went to be with her Lord, August 14, 2024. She was born in Wilmington Delaware on July 14, 1929 and moved to Tallmadge in 1969.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, John (Jack) Foraker and her beloved son, Jeffrey (Jeff) Foraker.
Barb is survived by children, Jack (Lynn) Foraker, daughter-in-law, Donna Foraker, Mike (Deb) Foraker, Joni (John) Eiffers, Ken (Sandi) Foraker; grandchildren, Audrea Taylor, Amber (Derrick) Smith, Kim (David) Motz, Meghan (Brandon) Chamberlin, Tom (Katelyn) Foraker, Ryan (Michaela) Foraker, David (Noel) Foraker, Kate (AJ) Chan, John Henry (Christina) Elffers, William (Sarah) Elffers, Grant (Olivia) Elffers, Lindsey (Nate) Douglass, Jess, Jordan and 31 great grandchildren who knew her as MomMom; Nana and Ritzy (for the Ritz crackers she would share).
Barbara always put her family first. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, Mom, nurturer and homemaker. As a young woman, Barbara attended Goldey-Beacom College Medical Secretary Program in the late 40's and enjoyed playing on the girl's college basketball team. She was employed as an Office Administrator at Glenny Plumbing Inc. in Cuyahoga Falls in the 70's and later worked in retail at JC Penneys. Barbara was a member of Chapel Hill Christian & Missionary Alliance for over 50 years. She enjoyed serving as a Deaconess, in the Pioneer Club Ministry and as a Sunday school teacher. She was a faithful member of the Chapel Hill Church Prayer Chain for many years. Barbara was an avid reader and letter writer. Her handwritten notes expressed her appreciation, gratitude and encouragement to her beloved family and friends. Many of you may have one of her precious notes tucked away. She made the best sweet tea ever. Period. She loved family vacations at the beaches of Delaware, gingersnap cookies, wearing her Santa hat at Christmas time and teaching her grandchildren to sing "Onward Christian Soldiers" while marching around the dining room table. Above all else, Barbara loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. One of her greatest joys was to share the redeeming love of Jesus to whoever crossed her path. Barb prayed fervently every morning for each child, grandchild and great grandchild by name. She was our prayer warrior. The keeper of what meant most to our family. Truly a force of nature. How we go forward without her is yet to be seen. Who we are as a family because of her, fills us with deepest gratitude.
We wish to thank the Staff at Eden Vista in Stow for all your kindness and care. To all her friends at Eden Vista, much appreciation for filling her final years with crafts, bingo and laughter. We know she was loved and for that we thank you.
