Barbara Ann Seli 81, our beautiful mother has died due to many complications from a stroke. She is dearly missed.
She was born on July 19, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio to James and Margaret Dodrill, the youngest of three sisters. Her grandparents the Reese's' were a big part of her upbringing. She attended Springfield TWP schools. She married our father John Seli on June 18, 1960. They bought an old farmhouse in Suffield Township and raised four children.
Mom was a dynamo. She had a huge personality and influenced many with her sage advice. She was a Renaissance woman; renown for her cooking, interior design, flower garden, dancing, China/antique collecting, decorating, fashions, hosting events and her lovely speaking voice.
Mom worked at Elaine Powers Figure Salons in the 1970's and managed three salons. Later she worked at St. Joseph Schools in Randolph.
She loved St. Joe and was honored to host the Renew group at her home for several years straight. She looked forward to these and planned her week around them.
Mom battled many health issues over the years. The worst being her struggle with a rare disease, which left her fatigued and weakened. This did not stop her from welcoming scores of visitors. She was loved by many, and her mark is left on all she met.
She is preceded in death by her cherished parents James and Margaret Dodrill, beloved sisters Louise Logan and Emmillie Radcliff and many long-missed Aunts, Uncles and relatives.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 64 years John; daughters Michele (John) Albertoni; Laura Seli; Lisa (Shane) Carder; son John Seli and friend Michael Shaffer; half-brother Linn Dodrill. Grandchildren Brian, Adam and Cory Seli; John P. Albertoni, Jeff Stayer; Shana McCord, Chloe and Maya Carder and many nieces, nephews and friends.
