Barbara L. Padgitt-Sheehan, 76, passed away October 5, 2014.

Born on October 9, 1937, Barbara was a lifelong resident of Akron. She retired from the City of Akron in 1996 as a Tax Auditor with 28 years of service. Barbara was a member of St. Martha's Church (known now as Blessed Trinity).

She was preceded in death by husband, Rusty Sheehan; parents, Raymond and Ruth Padgitt; and brother, David Padgitt. Barbara is survived by her brother, George (Jeanette) Padgitt; nieces, Dana (Rich) Motts and Kathy (David) Wilson; nephews, Dennis Padgitt, Patrick Padgitt and Daniel (Myrtie) Padgitt; special aunt, Peggy (Joe) Meyers; numerous cousins, great-nieces, nephews and great-great-nieces, nephews and close friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Blessed Trinity Church, 300 E. Talllmadge Ave., Akron 44310, with Father Joe Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 N. Main St., Akron.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Blessed Trinity Endowment fund.
