Benito Antognoli, 88, passed away June 30, 2016.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, Benito had lived in the Akron area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and graduated from Kent State University in 1951. Benito was the owner of Benito's Café from 1965 to 1997. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and was inducted into the Cuyahoga Falls High School Athletic Football Hall of Fame. Benito enjoyed fishing with his son Peter and family was the most important thing in his life.
He was preceded in death by his son, Peter; three sisters, and seven brothers.
Benito is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Gerrie"; daughters, Paula (Randy Toland) Antognoli of Amarillo, TX and Michelle (Mark) Giancarli of Akron; son. Benito (Elizabeth) Antognoli of Granger Township; grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Paul, John, Mark, Leah, and Audra; great grandchildren, Grace and Brady; sisters, Edith (Howard) Conway and Joanne Antognoli; brother, Angelo Antognoli all of Cuyahoga Falls, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Father John Hengle officiating.
Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
