Betty Jane Duncan passed away on November 1, 2022.
She was born in Akron, Ohio July 2, 1928, and resided in her Tallmadge home for 68 years. Betty was a homemaker, and also a full-charge bookkeeper for Wilkinson Chutes and CGC Systems in Kent. She also was a BEACON JOURNAL carrier for 18 years. Betty was a loving mother, wife and friend to many. Known for spunk and spontaneity, Betty is remembered for holiday cookie baking and passion for all sports, especially Cleveland baseball. Betty and her friends had season tickets to the Akron University Zips at the rubber bowl, as well as season tickets to the Cleveland Force / Crunch soccer. She had bowled in numerous leagues for 42 years and was the bowling league secretary for 25 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William N.
Duncan; her parents, Thomas S. and Eva Eveleth; and her, sister Marian "Ginny" Evans.
Betty is survived by daughter, Betsy Duncan Rhodes (Tallmadge); sons, Michael, Jeffrey (Kelly) and Gary Duncan; grandchildren, Roy (Tricia) and Ben (Sally) Duncan, Jessica (William) Kirk, and Melissa Lasordia. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be November 17, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Avenue, Tallmadge (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
A chapel service and internment at Greenlawn Cemetery will be November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
