Butch (Garnet W.) McGlothlin, age 80, of Atwater, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly October 14th, 2024. Butch had the biggest heart and an infectious smile. He had an uncanny way of making you laugh until you cried and always found the good in any situation. A dedicated horse trainer for many years and later on found fulfillment working at Sarchione Chevrolet.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Garnet (Monnie) McGlothlin; son, Jason McGlothlin; his brothers, Gary and Donald McGlothlin; as well as his sisters, Juanita and Alona McGlothlin, and Mona Lee (Jack) Smith.
Butch's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherri, with whom he shared 39 wonderful years; and their children, Scott (Robin) McGlothlin, Letha (Dave) Estes, Shelly Conkle, Clark (Erin) McGlothlin, and Ryan (Shanon) McGlothlin; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Diana McGlothlin.
He had tremendous love for his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Butch especially loved watching his grandkids develop a passion for the outdoors, fishing, and sports like soccer, baseball, basketball and football.
Butch enjoyed traveling the country showing horses with Sherri. His involvement with the Appaloosa Horse Club took him to Canada and Europe, where he promoted the breed and formed lifelong friendships. Known for his warm smile and willingness to help others, Butch will be deeply missed.
