Carol Ann (Ufkes) Bersani

Carol Ann (Ufkes) Bersani of Tallmadge, OH passed away peacefully on February 10, 2022. She will be deeply missed by her family, numerous friends and work colleagues.

Carol retired after nearly 50 years as a Professor of Early Childhood Education at Kent State University where she created and served as the Director of the KSU Child Development Center.  Carol was greatly devoted to and deeply enjoyed her career; actively publishing and consulting even into her retirement.  The role she cherished most was being the world's best Noni to her grandchildren. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church in Tallmadge for several decades. Carol greatly enjoyed gardening at her home and at the Tallmadge Community Garden.

Carol's family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise as well as the staff at Traditions Health Care.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Dr. Carlo A. Bersani; her parents, John & Mildred Ufkes; and her brother, James Ufkes.

She is survived by her loving daughters: Lisa Bersani and Michele (Mark) Stasitis. She also leaves behind two grandchildren: Anderson and Harper Stasitis. In addition, she leaves behind the cat she rescued for her grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband at Tallmadge Cemetery.
