Carolyn (Nerone) Gross

December 17, 1946 — August 1, 2025

Stow

Carolyn Gross, 78, a beloved wife and mother, passed away on August 1, 2025 in her hometown of Stow, Ohio. She also lived many years in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.  She leaves behind a legacy rich with love and devotion. It was through her remarkable role as a mother that she fostered an environment filled with warmth, compassion and unyielding support for her children and friends.

Carolyn's husband of 20 years stood by her side as a partner in life.  A testament to their unbreakable bonds formed through the love that they shared with each other.

One of Carolyn's missions in life was to make as many friends as possible.  She was always open to becoming your friend knowing it was an investment in the future with many valuable returns. She was an active member of the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, where she made many friends who she cherished dearly.

Education was also something she stressed for herself and her children. She was an excellent student, graduating Salutatorian of her high school class. She was honored by her class who voted her the most likely to succeed. As a testament to her social skills, she participated in many activities including Senior Honor Society, Yearbook Staff and numerous others. Carolyn also attended the University of Akron, where she graduated with  honors with a degree in Education.

Carolyn was a long-time member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Her faith was an important part of her life. She could be found at mass every Saturday evening.

Carolyn was employed at Adam Pollock, Pediatric Dentistry in Cuyahoga Falls.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Michele (Bryan) Miller of Portage Lakes; stepson, Stephen (Noelle) Gross of St. Augustine, Florida.

Her memory and impact she had on all who knew her will be celebrated in a service held at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., Tallmadge on August 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with a service at 12:00 p.m.  The family will also greet family and friends following the service.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of all her friends and family to encourage them to cherish every moment with those they hold dear.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Nerone and her son, Shaun Ferrell.
