Catherine E Grohosky

April 27, 1921 — June 2, 2018

Mrs. Catherine E. Grohosky, 97, was born in Central City, PA. on April 27, 1921 and died on June 2, 2018. On December 18, 1943, Catherine married her husband, Stanley, the love of her life and to whom she was married 51 years.  In 1945 with Stan's honorable discharge from the U.S. Army at the end of WWII, they moved to Akron, Ohio where she lived the rest of her life.

Catherine was a life-long practicing Catholic, member of Christ the King Catholic Church and their Altar and Rosary Society, the living Rosary and the Eucharistic Perpetual Adoration.  Catherine had a very special devotion to the Blessed Mother and prayed the Rosary daily.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Francis; and her beloved husband, Stanley.

Catherine is survived by her devoted sons, David S., Ed.D (Whitney) of Nuevo, CA., Edward M. of Akron; beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth M (Vincent), Nicholas E., Natalie E. Grohosky; great granddaughter, Emilia; sister in law, Adeline; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Catherine's great joy were her sons and her grandchildren, however she loved you all and cherished the thought that you were all a special part of her life. Mrs. Grohosky remains an inspiration to those close to her with her genuine love, warmth, wisdom, ambition, and independence of spirit. She enjoyed and took pride in the ability to do the simple things in life for herself and others including cooking and baking, especially those beloved Polish/European ethnic dishes, attending Mass, shopping and caring for her home and loved ones. (and driving the old Lincoln with the "Pray the Rosary" bumper sticker!)
