Catherine Marie (Palazzo) Caprez, 91, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children and grandchildren on July 19, 2015.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on March 24, 1924, the oldest of eight children of Catherine and Joseph Palazzo. After graduating from Akron East High School in 1942, she was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over a decade. She was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis where she met her future husband, Walter, and was married in 1953. She was a member of Saint Antony of Padua Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio.She will always be remembered for her love, compassion, and devotion to Our Lord, her husband and her entire family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; her sisters, Alice Palazzo and Frances Holcomb; and brother, Edward Palazzo. She is survived by daughters, Theresa Caprez, Monica (John) Casto, Maria (Rodney, deceased) Page and Regina (Greg) York; sons, Michael (Cynthia), Gabriel (Terri), Raphael (Jane) and Daniel (Patty); sister, Theresa (Vincent, deceased) Rasicci; brothers, Raymond (Carolyn, deceased), William, and Richard (Andrea) Palazzo; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Church, 83 Mosser Pl., Akron. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 N. Main St., Akron.
