Charles J Gauer

Charles J. Gauer, 92, passed away June 9, 2016.  Born in Kent, he lived in the Akron area most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army, 10th Mountain Division during World War II, where he attained the rank of Corporal and received the Bronze Star. Charles retired as a Foreman from Akron Standard Mold, was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Twinsburg and enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dora Gauer; brothers, Walter and Richard Gauer.

Charles is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Maureen Malik; son, Robert Gauer; step daughter, Lynda (Robert) Westbrooks of Macedonia; step son, Larry (Martha) Steidl.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ the King Luthern Church, 10285 Ravenna Rd, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.

Interment will be 1:00 p.m. June 23, 2016, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman Ohio.
