Charles R. Kuss

Charles R. Kuss, 90, passed away May 13, 2016.  Born in Brimfield, he lived most of his life in the Akron and Tallmadge area.

Chuck served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired with the rank of Major. He retired from Akron Standard and was a member of Tallmadge Lutheran Church.  He was a manager and coach for little league baseball in Goodyear Heights for 10 years. Chuck also directed the Drill Team and Color Guard for the Akron Musical Knights. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, trapping, gardening and was a great fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, June and his parents, Walter and Mary Kuss.

Chuck is survived by his daughters, Terese E. Bell of Tallmadge, Lynne (Steve) Long of Arizona; son, Charles V. (Tricia) Kuss of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan, Alexis, Lindsey, Rebecca; great grandson, Jett, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at Tallmadge Lutheran Church, 759 East Ave., Tallmadge with Pastor Andy Alberts officiating.

Interment will be at Restland Cemetery, where Military Honors will be held by the Mogadore VFW Post #8487.
