Obituary

Charles A. Towsley, 88, of Tallmadge , passed away peacefully on August 23, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1925 in Akron .

Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Towsley and Claudia Cassidy; brothers, Phillip Towsley and David Cassidy he is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years, Ann; sons, Denny (Cheryl) of Cuyahoga Falls, Michael (Connie) of Dallas, Wayne of Dallas and Jeff (Rose Luckay) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Marc (Kerri), Kurt (Debbie Newland), Eric (Katie), Arielle, Ian, and Adam; and great-grandchildren, McKenna and Blaze. Also surviving is his sweet little puppy, Cindy.

Charles was a US Army WWII veteran and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company after 30 years. He also worked at Roetzel and Andress Law firm for 7 years.

Cremation has taken place. Mass of the Christian Burial on August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory, 91 North Ave , Tallmadge , Ohio where friends may call one hour prior to the mass time.

Private entombment with military honors will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery , Rittman , Ohio . In lieu of flowers please make donations to the VNS Hospice, 3385 Ridgewood Road , Akron , 44333.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at the Hospice Center and Dr. Petrus and Dr. Albainy for their outstanding care.
