IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina R.
(Haddad) Kondis
November 28, 1946 – March 9, 2018
Christina Rose Kondis, 71, of Akron, OH passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her on March 9, 2018, after enduring a difficult battle with lung disease. Christina was the first born daughter of Nicholas and Esperanza Haddad and grew up in the community of North Hill. Christina began as a loving and nurturing daughter/sister and grew into a selfless Mother, Friend and Confidant. Christina was of one of the brightest, most intelligent, loyal people we will ever come to know. She was a business owner alongside her husband of 50 years, Mario Kondis, a PTA mom, a softball coach, and could debate a topic with the best of them. Christina was a hard worker, the backbone of a family business and an avid sports fan. She loved watching the Cleveland Indians and the OSU Buckeyes, and seemed to know "everything about everything." Christina had an unbridled spirit, a spirit that could only be tamed by the oxygen cords that acted as "chains" to her body from which she is now free. Christina touched and guided so many throughout her lifetime. Her spirit, passion and conviction go unparalleled.
Christina was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nicholas and Esperanza Haddad, her brother Samuel Haddad, and her precious daughter Melina Kondis. Christina is survived by her beloved Husband of 50 years, Mario Kondis; her first-born daughter Nicole (James) Fisher; daughter Alexandra Kondis; only son Nicholas Kondis; grandson Nicholas Fisher; brother Judge Victor Haddad of Cincinnati; and sister-in-law Rose Marie Haddad; many nieces, nephews, cousins.
In the last years of her life, Christina was most cared for by her children and her husband Mario Kondis, as they acted as her primary caregivers and Christina's one and only grandson, Nicholas Fisher, was the love and shining star of her life. Christina leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom. It was a privilege to have her as a Mother and we are most grateful that she was ours to share with the world. Lastly, we cannot forget to mention an integral group of women that were a part of her life since high school that agreed to and succeeded in getting together monthly for the past 53 years. It was always "Club's" way or the "highway" and these women know who they are. In her own words, "please tell the girls I love them and had so much fun over the years and am sorry I had to be the first to go." Christina loved her family, her home, and her Ellet Community. Mom, I hope you can walk freely in Heaven without fear of losing your breath, and I hope you find a Macy's and Coach outlet in the sky where you can shop to your heart's content. Until we meet again.
