Daniel W. Ray, Sr.

Daniel W. Ray Sr. passed away on December 1, 2023 at 57 years old.

He was born in Firestone Park, graduated from Garfield High School, class of 1984, and was proud to call himself a "Park Boy". Dan was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, endless laughter, jokes and being called the original roundhead. Dan attended The Ohio State University and was an avid Ohio State fan as well as a Cleveland and Tallmadge sports fan, where he never missed any of his children's games or events through the years.

Dan had a story for everything and would never fail to create smiles and laughter. He loved spending time in the kitchen or at the grill, creating delicious meals for family and anyone who stopped over. He cooked everyone's favorite meals for birthday's and never forgot his own- celebrating it with food, family and friends for the entire month. Dan was the "go to man" at Lowe's, where he worked and greeted everyone with a smile, followed with a joke or sarcastic remark. He previously was co-owner of Precision Cabinets, where he excelled at woodworking. He has left many with a display of his exceptional craftsmanship, drawings and artwork. Dan was a loving husband, father, brother, son, brother -in-law, coach, and friend.

Dan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl, and their three children, Daniel Jr, Logan and Lindsay. He leaves his mother, Carol Ray; brother, Ralph Jr. (Louise); sister, Gail Kamlowsky; mother-in-law, Cecelia Woicehovich; sister-in-law, Annette (Stan) Carlisle, and brothers-in-law, Vince (Kris) and Wilson Jr. (Lynn) Woicehovich. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He is proceeded in death by brother, Dave Ray; father, Ralph Ray Sr.; brother-in-law, Paul Kamlowsky; and father-in-law, Wilson Woicehovich Sr.

Visitation will be 4 pm to 6:30pm on Friday December 8, 2023 at Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Memorial services to follow at 6:30 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Lewis from First EC Church of Firestone Park officiating.
