Dante DeAscentiis, 94 passed away on August 9, 2022 at his home with his companion of 22 years, Ana by his side.
Dante was born in Mosciano S Angelo, Italy. He was the fourth of five children. Dante was an extremely confident man with an engaging personality. His father owned an independent travel company in Italy, and Dante joined his older brother and father in the adventures of travel at the age of sixteen. Dante was an Independent Travel expert and could accomplish almost the impossible in adventures. He retired from Akron Metro not only as a bus driver, but as an entertainer on his daily routes.
He was a member of a professional soccer team in Italy, a sport he loved dearly. He enjoyed race car driving and a good game of Morra. Dante came to the United States for a visit and made it his second home, gathering many friends along the way. He also enjoyed Italian dinner dances, relaxing on the beach of the Adriatic Sea and eating poccetta from the vender on Wednesday afternoon. Dante had many dear friends here and in Italy. Always ready to travel, a great family man and loved his church, friends and Ana.
Dante is survived by his companion, Ann Spagnola and her family; his best friends, Mario Caponi and family; Jiuliana De Pasquale and family; sister, Franca DiBlasio of Italy; Dr. Carlo Constantini of Italy; nephew, Aldo & Lia DeAscentiis of Italy; Joseph D'Antonio of California; extended family, Larry and Debbie Meyers of Akron, Marge Gaffney of K & D in Cuyahoga Falls.
Special thank you to Rocco Caponi, Jeri and Kristen, and the staff of Southern Care for all the care and love that they gave to Dante.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., September 10, 2022 at St. Joseph Parish, 215 Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls with Fr. Jared Orndorf officiating and Fr. Sam Ciccolini assisting.
